Bereavement Doula Support
Bereavement doulas offer compassionate support to individuals and families during these difficult times.
What is a bereavement doula? A bereavement doula is an experienced professional who provides emotional, physical, and practical support to individuals and their loved ones experiencing the loss of a baby. Much like a birth doula, a bereavement doula is there to offer guidance, comfort, and companionship throughout the process.
By the Moon trains pregnancy and infant loss doulas who are have the skills to assist families in various ways:
Emotional Support: The journey through grief is unique for each person. Our trained full spectrum doulas provide a safe space for clients to express their feelings, fears, and concerns without judgment. Our doulas are trained in comfort measures to help alleviate any discomfort or pain client's may be experiencing. From reflexology and massage techniques to relaxation exercises, they aim to provide clients with relief and relaxation.
Practical Assistance: From ensuring client's basic needs for nourishment are met to taking care of practical tasks, our holistic full spectrum doula alumni are there to provide support in whatever way is needed. Whether it's preparing meals, running errands, or managing household chores, we aim to alleviate any additional stressors so clients can focus on healing.
Creating Keepsakes: Memories of loss babies are precious, and our doulas can help create keepsakes that honor and celebrate their life. From handprints and footprints to memory boxes and photography, loss doulas work with parents to create tangible reminders of their love and connection.
Connecting with Community Resources: Clients need to know they are not alone on this journey. Our doulas can help connect with local support groups, counseling services, and other resources to ensure they have the support they need beyond what the doula offers. Building a strong support network is essential for healing, and we are here to help you every step of the way.
